Overview
My research explores the transformation of local governance associated with urban spatial development strategies in China's shift towards people-oriented urbanisation. Through a reworked theoretical scaffold of urban entrepreneurialism (and entrepreneurial city), I shall examine the Public and Private Partnership (PPP) and rural collective economic organisation shareholding reform towards an 'urban-cum-rural coordinated' development. With an analytical focus on a small city in hinterland China, the research will also benefit the understanding of emerging 'ordinary' urbanism in the off-the-map global south. |
