My research aims at exploring the transformation of local governance, urban politics and urban spatial development strategies in China in the transition toward a “industry-city integrated, and urban-rural integrated” economy. Starting from the therotical lens of urban entrepreneurialism (or entrepreneurial city), I shall examine the Public and Private Partnership (PPP) in its narrow and broad sense, rural property rights reform, and urban-rural integrated development.  WIth a particular attention would be paid to the small cities in hiterland China, the research aims to join the debate of the understanding of the 'off-the-map' emerging urbanism in the 'global south'.
