Yilong is a Ph.D. student at the University of Manchester. His current research looks at the ways in which same-sex relations and sexuality are perceived, discussed, and represented in independent films in contemporary PRC (People's Republic of China), in relation to One-Child Policy. Specifically, he is interested in exploring how histories, politics, policies, and Confucius legacy shape the current thinking and praxis of Chinese who do not adhere to a heteronormative society. He completed his BAH from Queen's University and MA from OCAD University, both in Canada, before coming to Manchester.
