I am an Honorary Research Fellow in the Centre for Translation and Intercultural Studies.

I worked as a professional translator for the Department of Immigration in Australia before undertaking a PhD in Translation Studies at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia (awarded 2001). From 2004 till 2020 I held a post as Lecturer at the University of Manchester. I was co-founder and programme director of the Masters in Intercultural Communication. I have published three monographs in the areas of Memory Studies, Translation, and Intercultural Relations. Currently I live in Le Mans, France, where I teach at the local university.
