Graduated from Bournemouth University in 2011 with BSc Software Engineering Management degree, have subsequently worked in a number of technical roles including Software Developer, Web Application Developer, Software Tester, Junior Business Analyst and Technical Lead/Project Manager.
National Drug Evidence Centre (NDEC)
Working within the National Drug Evidence Centre (NDEC) part of the Centre for Epidemiology within the Institute of Population Health at the University of Manchester.
At NDEC my main role is the support and development of the National Drug Treatment Monitoring System (NDTMS) web application sponsored by Public Health England (PHE) and the ViewIt statistical analysis tool.
As well as working with NDTMS and ViewIt I am also involved in the development of applications for other centres within the institute and advising the senior members of the team on which technologies, techniques and software the team should be pursuing in terms of the direction of the department and the development project we are currently undertaking.
Manchester Business School (MBS)
Working with the latest technologies my main role was to develop applications for Manchester Business School, some of the technologies and software packages I worked with included MVC3, MVC4, SQL Server 2008 R2 and 2012, Visual Studio 2010, Team Foundation Server, ASP.NET 4.0 and ODP.NET.
trialed an Agile development process for a number of projects mainly using MVC3/MVC4 (using MSF for Agile and Scrum).
Within the role I was also expected to keep up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques to improve my skills, through research (use of blogs, development websites and forums) and practical development projects using new technologies found through research conducted.
