Overview

Shadd Maruna is Professor of Criminology at the University of Manchester, having previously taught at Rutgers University, the University of Cambridge and elsewhere. His book Making Good: How Ex-Convicts Reform and Rebuild Their Lives was named the Outstanding Contribution to Criminology by the American Society of Criminology in 2001. He was also received awards from the Howard League for Penal Reform and the Economic and Social Research for his work’s impact on penal policy.
