Samuel Moxon is a postdoctoral research associate in the Division of Cell Matrix Biology & Regenerative Medicine. He joined the University of Manchester in 2016 after completing both a B.Sc. in Medical Genetics and a PhD in Tissue Engineering at the University of Huddersfield. His research focusses on the use of naturally occurring biopolymers as scaffolds for engineering human tissues. He applies advanced manufacturing technologies such as 3D bioprinting in order to generate new platforms for soft and hard tissue regeneration. In particular, he has focussed on generating better in vitro models of cartilage, bone and brain tissue and is currently developing a biofabrication strategy for creating a full scale analogue of the human intervertebral disc.
