Biography

I am an urban and real estate economist. I am a lecturer at the School of Environment, Education and Development, University of Manchester. 
 
I was an Assistant Professor at the Center for Urban Policy and Governance, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) in Mumbai, and a visiting fellow at Brookings Institution (India Center). I was a postdoctoral scholar at the Sol Price School of Public Policy, University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles.
 
My research is in the field of urban economics, real estate and housing economics. My recent papers are on vacant housing in India, migration and tenure choice, housing supply in Mumbai etc. My research is published in the Journal of Urban Economics, Journal of Regional Science, Cities, Environment and Urbanisation, among others.
 
I have bylines in international and Indian media -- The Washington Post, The Hindu, The Hindustan Times, Livemint among others, and my research has been cited or quoted in The Financial Times, The Straits Times, BBC, Livemint and others.
