Dr S. Olutunde Oyadiji BSc, PhD
Reader
Biography
Tunde Oyadiji obtained BSc (First Class) and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manchester in 1979 and 1983 respectively. From 1984 to 1987 he was a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), Ile-Ife, Nigeria. Subsequently, he was Postdoctoral Research Associate at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh and at the University of Manchester. From 1991 he joined the academic staff of the University of Manchester. His principal research activities have evolved from his PhD work (sponsored by the Ministry of Defence) and centre on the engineering applications of viscoelasticity and of viscoelastic and smart materials for vibration and shock isolation and control, and on the applications of wave propagation for the identification of material properties and of structural faults
