Ruikang Xue is currently a postdoctoral research associate in Prof. Sarah Cartmell's group in the Department of Materials. His current project is funded by Versus Arthritis; and it focuses on the development of novel medical devices for tendon repair. He completed his PhD supervised by Prof. Sarah Cartmell in March 2019. During his PhD, he also worked part-time in the Henry Mosley X-ray Imaging Facility to conduct μCT scans and image analysis for industrial customers. He has expertise in musculoskeletal tissue engineering, additive manufacturing, cellular fluid mechanics, bioreactors, computational modelling, computer aided design and μCT.
