I hold a PhD in History of Art and Visual Studies from the University of Manchester, where I was a President’s Doctoral Scholar Award holder from 2013 to 2016. I previously obtained an undergraduate degree from the University of Firenze (Cultural Studies) and a post-graduate degree from the University of Bologna (History of Art). My PhD is now a monograph, published with Routledge as Dolls, Photography and the Late Lacan: Doubles Beyond the Uncanny.
While studying from my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, I worked in Italy in the cultural sector for over 10 years in museum management, training and development. Bringing together my academic and creative industry interests, I founded REAlab in 2014-15 and then Collaboration Labs in 2019-20 to promote new models of collaboration between cultural organisations and academic research.
