Having studied power exploitation at a macro level (the environment) for the first five years of my academic career, studying a unique qualifying environmental law degree at Northumbria University and a Master’s degree at Newcastle University School of Law focusing on international environmental law, the law of biodiversity and natural resources, the intersection of science and the law, and opting to study critical geopolitics (power exploitation at the meso level), my PhD project is a move towards power exploitation at a microlevel - the body. The thesis explores the ways in which judges exert power over bodies in the context of euthanasia.
