My research concerns how interpersonal dynamics and the quality of relationships with others can affect how people cope with and respond to multidisciplinary treatment for chronic pain. My research is based on attachment theory which is suggested to influence how we relate to others more generally. I am also interested in how people with chronic pain and their partners interact with each other, with a focus on how validating or invalidating their romantic partner is.
My PhD is supervised by Dr Richard Brown, Professor Alison Wearden and Dr Hannah Twiddy.
