Ms Qi Liu
Overview
Qi Liu is a PhD student (Geography, University of Manchester) with research interests in areas of sustainable tourism and water/energy consumption. Based on ethnographic studies in a Chinese hot spring town, her research uses social practice theories to explore the dynamics of sustainable consumption in the context of tourism and lifestyle mobilities. She examines how cultural conventions, materials and bodily competences interconnect and co-evolve and in turn escalate tourist demands for water, energy and resources.
