Pratibha Ram is a Lecturer in Fashion Marketing in the Department of Materials. She teaches BSc, MSc course units and supervises MSc thesis. Prior to joining the University of Manchester, she was a Senior Lecturer in Singapore and a Lecturer in Hong Kong. She started her career in marketing and gained several years of industry experience where she held various positions in business development, branding, advertising and marketing.
Pratibha has a First Class Bachelor's degree in Management and a Masters degree with distinction in Marketing and Retail from the University of Manchester. She was awarded a full funding for her current Doctoral Research on Consumption and Branding from the Alliance Manchester Business School, she is the recepient of an AMBS studentship. Her research focuses on symbolic branding and inconspicuous consumption within the luxury retail sector. Her industry experience has shaped her research interests which are primarily consumer research and branding. She is particularly interested in symbolic consumption, consumer experiences, luxury branding, brand activism and themes that relate to the social and cultural impact of branding and consumption.
