Reader in Synthetic Biology and Quantitative Genomics, Division of Evolution and Genomic Sciences, Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health at Manchester University. August 2007 to Present.  Reader in Synthetic Biology and Quantitative Genomics, Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health, Manchester University, and Principle Investigator at the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology.

2018 to present. Honorary Professor, Department of  Bioengineering, University California, Berkeley, CA, USA.

2013 to 2017. Honorary Professor, Department of Biomedical Engineering, University of Irvine, California,  USA.

2006 to 2007. Visiting Professor of Applied Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, Institut für Spektrochemie und Angewandte Spektroskopie, Dortmund Institute of Technology, Germany.
