Dr Patsy Perry is Senior Lecturer in Fashion Marketing in the Department of Materials and teaches students on BSc and MSc fashion business programmes in subjects relating to fashion marketing, e-commerce, supply chain management and sustainability. She supervises doctoral students in topics relating to fashion consumer behaviour and sustainability, primarily from a qualitative perspective.
Patsy gained her PhD in Management, with a focus on Corporate Social Responsibility in garment supply chains from Heriot-Watt University in 2012 and has published her work in journals such as the Journal of Business Ethics and the Journal of Business Research. Her expertise includes the environmental and social impacts of fashion and her work has been featured in the media. She has appeared on BBC Breakfast, BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 5 Live, TalkRadio, BBC Newsbeat and quoted in The Telegraph, The Independent and The Observer amongst others. She is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Fashion Marketing and Management and an Editorial Advisory Board member of the International Journal of Physical Distribution and Logistics Management.
Previously, she graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a BSc International Fashion Marketing in 2001 and a MBA from The University of Southampton in 2002. She also has industry experience in retailing and market research.
Patsy gained a PG Certificate in Academic Practice and was awarded Fellowship of The Higher Education Academy in 2011. She was External Examiner at Nottingham Trent University for the MSc programmes in Marketing, Branding and Advertising, and Digital Marketing from 2014-2018 and for the BA fashion buying, marketing and communication programmes at the University of Huddersfield from 2014-2019. She is currently External Examiner for BSc Business Management programmes at Surrey Business School. She has examined doctoral students at Salford Business School and Nottingham Trent University.
