Biography

Nicola Tomlinson is currently undertaking research for a PhD funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council at the University of Manchester (UK). Her primary research questions focus on the construction of identities through contemporary film produced in Andalusia and Catalonia since the ratification of the ‘Ley del Cine’ in 2007. She has conducted fieldwork at the Alcances, Filmets, Sevilla, Huelva and D’A Barcelona film festivals in the past two years as part of her investigation. Her further research interests include nationalisms, contemporary cinema, film festivals and identities.

Upon submission of a portfolio evidencing teaching experience and professional development in the context of UK HE, I was awarded the status of Associate Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy in September 2018.
