PhD student at the University of Manchester based within the Division of Musculoskeletal and Dermatological Sciences. My project title is: ‘exploring the influence of treatment on CD4+ T-cell sub-populations in patients receiving biologic drugs for their inflammatory arthritis’.

Graduated from Newcastle University with a First Class Honours in Pharmacology with a Professional Placement Year. Was awarded the the Research Project Prize in the Northern Institute for Cancer Research for an outstanding project performance.

Industrial Placement year was completed at GlaxoSmithKline within the Refractory Respiratory Inflammation Discovery Performance Unit (RRI DPU). Gained experience in a range of biological assays (e.g. primary cell isolation and differentiation, flow cytometry and ELISA) and drug metabolism and pharmacokinetic techniques such as liquid-liquid extraction, solid phase extraction and liquid chromatography mass spectroscopy.
Supported the development of a novel target and was awarded the ‘GSK Student Recognition of Excellence’ certificate.
