Matteo Ronzani is a Lecturer in the Accounting and Finance Division. He joined Alliance Manchester Business School in November 2019. Before joining AMBS, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at The University of Edinburgh School of Social and Political Science. He completed his PhD in 2018 at The University of Edinburgh Business School and his MSc in 2015 at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
Matteo studies the effects of data visualizations and performance measures in organizations and society. In particular, he investigates how visualizations such as dashboards, scorecards, and ranking visualizations influence organizational practices, innovation, and social processes of quantification.
Matteo's research has been published in Research in the Sociology of Organizations. He reviews frequently for journals such as Accounting, Organizations and Society, Organization Studies, Research in the Sociology of Organizations, Accounting and Business Research, and Critical Perspectives on Accounting. Beyond academia, Matteo engages with and consults for several organizations, primarily from the public and IT sectors.
Currently, Matteo is involved in teaching of the following courses: Introductory Management Accounting (UG), Advanced Management Accounting (UG), and Advanced Accounting Research (PhD).
Matteo is an Associate Member of the Centre for Science, Knowledge and Policy (SKAPE) at the University of Edinburgh School of Social and Political Science.
