Overview
I worked as part of the Health Policy, Politics and Organisations (HiPPO) from 2014. Research within HiPPO focuses upon the interaction between health policy and organisations within the health service. I undertake a number of aspects of qualitative research from data collection (interviews, telephone surveys and observations) to analysis and dissemination. In 2018, HiPPO became part of the bigger Health, Policy and Economics (HOPE) group with the Centre for Primary Care.
Biography
I joined the Centre for Primary Care in 2010 to start my PhD, exploring how Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) were tackling health inequalities within England. I had previosuly studied Psychology and Sociology before, focusing on health at Masters level.
After the completion of my PhD I have worked on a number of different research projects:
- Exploring how an integrated care programme for older people was being developed and maintained across a number of different organisations
- Exploring the development of Clinical Commissioning Groups: Understanding primary care co-commissioning-uptake, development and impacts
- A Department of Health Reform Evaluation Programme study trying to understand the new commissioning system in England
