I am a PhD in electrical engineering working as a PDRA (postdoc) with the Electrical Energy and Power Systems Group at The University of Manchester, UK. I am currently working for the MY-STORE project (Multi-energY storage-Social, TechnO-economic, Regulatory and Environmental assessment under uncertainty) - Funded by EPSRC, UK. My contribution to the project is to assess the technical challenges and opportunities seen by storage distributed storage aggregators to provide ancillary services to the transmission and/or distribution networks. More importantly, proposing management control schemes to ensure network integrity is not compromised while maximising benefits for aggregators and customers.
My general interests are the operation and planning of distribution networks, with an emphasis on energy efficiency and the integration of low carbon technologies. In particular, exploring and proposing operational control strategies (including rule-based and optimisation-based controls).
I have always linked to industry. As part of my PhD project, I contributed with the "Smart Street" project of Electricity North West Limited (ENWL), UK, where innovative operational strategies were trialled. I have also five years working experience in distribution and transmission companies in Chile, were my last position was "Senior Specialist in Operation Studies" in Chilectra (now Enel Distribucion), the main distribution company in Chile.
I volunteered as chair of the IEEE Student Branch PES Chapter at The University of Manchester in 2016, which was awarded with the annual High Performing Student Branch Chapter Program in early 2017. Moreover, in 2017, I was appointed as the volunteer coordinator for the 12th IEEE PES PowerTech Conference held in Manchester. I have also been teaching assistant and mentor of Master students at The University of Manchester (UK), The University of Melbourne (Australia), Universidad de Chile, Universidad de Los Andes and Universidad Andrés Bello (Chile).
