I am a chartered psychologist and HCPC registered Health Psychologist with special interests in assessment in health and learning.  I work within the phase 1 MBChB team delivering learning support and disability support, as well as leading on assessment in phase 1 and psychology across the programme.  I supervise research in both undergraduate and postgraduate students.  My current research interests are in using behaviour change concepts to assess and enhance education of health professionals and in understanding the benefits of learning in international environments for UK healthcare professionals.

I am an affiliate member of the Manchester Centre for Health Psychology and am their communications officer (follow us on twitter @ManHealthPsych) as well as being an enthusiastic user of social media (follow me on twitter @luciebd)

Born and brought up in Wirral, I lived most of my adult life in Bristol before moving back to Wirral in 2007.  I have worked in healthcare settings, conducting research with patient groups in assessment and psychological therapies.  I research behavioural science applied to health professional education and in particular I am interested in how education and training changes practice and how it can be enhanced to make practice change more likely.  My work is in UK and Sub-Saharan Africa, collaborating with educators to drive and research healthcare professional practice change.  I am married with four children and a cat called Yoda.
