Biography
I'm a social and cultural historian of Modern Britain with specific focus on the mid 19th and early 20th century. My main research interests include the democratisation and politics of culture, the history of collecting, collectors, museums and exhibitions, British imperialism in China, and life stories.
I grew up in Lancaster and moved to Manchester for my BA. After a year teaching in China I returned to Manchester for my MA and PhD. I started as a Lecturer in 2021.
If I'm not chatting history, I'm usually chatting football.
