Lara is the coordinator of the Business and Human Rights Catalyst - Alliance Manchester Business School.
Her main research focus is social accountability, and in particular responsible business conduct and the impact of the private sector on fundamental rights.
Lara received a first-class honours BA and MA degrees in Political Science from the University of Pisa, and her PhD in Management, Competitiveness and Development from the Grand Ecole Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna with a thesis on the relationship between Social Capital and Corporate Social Responsibility.
She has well-established industrial experience with public and private actors about non-financial accounting, stakeholder engagement, and social and labour standards.
She has a wide knowledge of the United Nations system, where she collaborated in secondment to the 66th General Assembly in NYC II Committee, then became a research associate at the UN Global Compact Italian Network.
From 2012 to 2016 she worked as a Senior Consultant and Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute of Management, Grand Ecole Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna.
Lara joined Alliance Manchester Business School in 2016 to work with Prof Ken McPhail on Business and Human rights.
