I currently work on the British Association of Dermatologists Biologics and Immunomodulators Register (BADBIR). BADBIR is a large pharmacovigilance cohort designed to collect data reflecting true clinical practice for treatment of patients with moderate-severe psoriasis with biologic, small molecule and conventional systemic therapies in the UK and ROI. My role includes providing support and guidance for researchers using the BADBIR dataset. My research interests include using longitudinal analyses to investiagte the safety, utilisation, and effectiveness of therapies prescribed for the treatment of moderate-severe psoriasis.

During my undergraduate degree, I completed a year-long placement with GlaxoSmithKline's clinical trial unit at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge. I worked on three phase I studies utilising experimental pain models in healthy volunteers and two studies investigating pain mechanisms in patients with osteoarthritis (OA). The experimental pain studies included the use of quantitative sensory testing (QST). I subsequently used this methodology in my PhD to investigate the associations between pain intensity, or changes in pain following treatment, and altered pain processing in people with knee pain and/or knee OA.

I completed my PhD with the Arthritis Research UK Epidemiology Unit in 2014. The training I received in epidemiology during my PhD helped me to decide to pursue a career within this field. I have been employed as a Research Associate for the BADBIR cohort since May 2014.
