My name is Dr Chi In (Kara) Ng. I am a Presidential Fellow in Organisational Psychology at Alliance Manchester Business School. I completed my undergraduate degree (BA Classics, BA Psychology) at the University of Rochester (USA) before moving to the University of Manchester to complete my MSc and PhD in Organisational Psychology. I worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the Institute of Work Psychology at the University of Sheffield. I am an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
My research mainly seeks to understand why people do 'bad things' at work. I am interested in using behavioural ethics to explain workplace bullying, particularly in relation to bystanders, who are an overlooked group within bullying research. I'm also interested in how moral processes and differences can help us explain unethical behaviours at work. In my postdoc, I helped to implement and evaluate training interventions aimed at improving employee mental health and physical safety.
