Social responsibility

As outreach activities and participation to disseminate work outside the University of Manchester, I have participated in:

- University of Manchester NANO-Master Class in 2018, showcasing laboratories and graphene concepts and applications in the Physics building to underage students.

- Winter Graphene Study in Feb 2019.

- 65th Annual Conference on Magnetism and Magnetic Materials (MMM2020) conference.

Further information

I studied my bachelor’s degree in Physics at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico and at the University of Birmingham, UK. Then joined a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) programme in Condensed Matter Physics at the University of Manchester, UK. I started a PhD in the same topic also at the University of Manchester.

Currently I am doing research in topics related to Graphene focused on Spintronics and Thermoelectric applications, with work done on spin and charge transport, spin anisotropy, and thermoelectricity on 2D systems made of Gr (with and without chemical functionalization), hBN, and ferromagnetic materials on SiO2 substrates.

Areas of expertise

  • QC Physics - Graphene, hBN, Spintronics, thermoelectrics, Spin anisotropy
