Jane is an experienced academic with a track record of collaborating with health professionals, healthcare leaders and policy makers to co-produce impactful research that answers key problems relating to healthcare and the healthcare workforce while advancing theory.
Jane has worked in the field of workforce and health services research since 2004 and has been teaching and supporting university undergraduate and postgraduate students and healthcare professionals since 2005. Jane’s knowledge of the NHS has been gained partly through working in psychiatric units and through her teaching and research career, which has focussed on the working lives of healthcare professionals. Jane’s work has involved both understanding and communicating complex conceptual ideas in healthcare including, for example, leadership, learning at work, equality and diversity, job satisfaction, career progression, fairness in organisations, workforce shortages and precarious work, regulation and implementation of new practices.
