Overview

I am an interdisciplinary researcher interested in the interface between public health, online/offline practices and sexuality. My current work looks at the ways in which medical advancements and the availability of social media have changed gay men’s relationship to HIV and their sexual desires.

Biography

I obtained a BA in English Studies in 2016 from the University of Oviedo (Spain) with a dissertation on masculinity in the queer Chicano poetry of Francisco X. Alarcón. I also did a year-long research stay at Rollins College (Florida, US) where I worked in the Department of Critical Media and Cultural studies, developing an interest in qualitative research methodologies and autoethnography. I obtained my MA in Critical Theory and Cultural Studies from the University of Nottingham in 2017, where I worked on queer theory. Since 2017, I am a PhD student at the University of Manchester.

In the past, I have published work on queer poetry, 18th century comparative literature and creative writing.
