Jackie is currently Lecturer in Healthcare Leadership & Management at Manchester Business School and Deputy Programme Director of the Elizabeth Garret Anderson 2 year MSc in health care leadership.
Jackie has more than 25 years experience working in and with Public and Third Sector organisations. This work has informed and shaped her abiding interest in organisational dynamics and culture. She worked extensively on the development of person centred approaches, publishing articles and co-editing an Open University book on the subject. Within the NHS, Jackie held senior roles in Organisational Development and Talent Management, where she designed and managed development interventions for aspiring Directors and Chief Executives. The last 15 years of her work have had an emphasis on developing individuals and working with groups, typically in the context of organisational changes.
Jackie is trained in advanced communications skills as well as a systems psychoanalytic approach to understanding individual and organisational behaviour. She is known for her inclusive and purposeful consulting and facilitation practice, from action learning sets to large group interventions. She brings a light touch to the deeper work of reflective, experiential and action orientated learning.
Jackie currently leads a number of national evaluations of culure and leadership programmes in healthcare, using realist methodology.
