Dr Helen McCormick is Senior Lecturer in Fashion Business and Marketing at the University of Manchester. She is a specialist in retail marketing and conducts research in the area of social media marketing, consumer behaviour, m-commerce, e-commerce and s-commerce, retail design and sustainabe business practices in fashion retail. McCormick has undertaken many roles within the University and is currently the Discipline Head of Education for Fashion Business and Technology within the Department of Materials providing leadership in teaching, learning and student-related activities. She is passionate about teaching and learning, the student experience and researching the changing retail environment in the UK and globally focusing on how technology and business processes can support and develop sustainable practices in retail.
Helen has worked in a number of retail establishments including Debenhams, River Island and Marks and Spencer. It was during her time at Marks and Spencer’s as a Visual Merchandiser that her passion for retail and environment design became apparent, which inspired both her UG and PG focus.
