I am broadly interested in plant-soil interactions and how soil functions such as carbon and nutrient cycling are affected by environmental change. I am currently working on a project to estimate nitrous oxide emissions from agricultural land using remote sensing data obtained from drones and satellites. I will use this data to compare emissions between fields with varying management practices. I am also using Gladiss the GasLab van, to measure greenhouse gas emissions in the field for ground truthing.
My previous PhD research focussed on mangrove soils, looking at how nutrient addition, environmental factors, and plant genetic variability control the composition, diversity, and functioning of bacterial communities.
