Biography

I am a cognitive neuroscientist, specialising in non-invasive brain stimulation.  As director of the Manchester Brain Stimulation Lab (MBSL), I lead non-invasive brain stimulation research at the Division of Neuroscience and Experimental Psychology. My research can be divided into two streams:

  • The first stream focuses on semantic and social cognition. In particular, developing transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) protocols to mimic dementia impairments in healthy volunteers, thus providing evidence for theories of semantic cognition.
  • Applications of non-invasive brain stimulation that focus on patient rehabilitation protocols for autism, schizophrenia and stroke.

After obtainng a BSc (Honors) in Neuroscience from the University of Toronto, I've completed a BA in Psychology from the University of Belgrade, followed by a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience from SISSA, Trieste in 2006.
