Gemma Shields is a Lecturer at the University of Manchester, focusing on the design and implementation of economic evaluations in mental health and chronic disabilities. She is a member of the i3HS Hub and course lead of the Health Economics course unit on the Master of Public Health.
Gemma works on a number of integrated clinical and economic evaluations of health technologies, with a focus on mental health.

Gemma is the course lead for the Health Economics course unit available via the MPH by distance learning. The course enables participants to understand the principles of health economics, structure an economic evaluation and appraise and apply economic evaluation evidence to decision-making in practice.
