As a research assistant, I use my technical knowledge and own experience to design and carry out experiments within my group and independently.
The ability to integrate well and communicate with all levels of staff is important as I contribute to the work of others in the lab by offering practical and intellectual help.
I fully participate in the activities of the research group ,including analysis and presentation of the data.
My job requires as well a general laboratory support including monitoring lab accounts, ordering equipment and consumables and maintenance of cell line.
Other laboratory housekeeping tasks include plasmid archives and COSSH assessments.
Finally, my R.A. role involves the supervision and training of staff and students (undergraduates/postgraduates).
