Research interests

Viet's research interests are in the following areas in Corporate Finance:

- Corporate capital structure: dynamic trade-off models, the effect of financial crises, and debt conservatism;

- Corporate finance and labor-related issues: cash holdings and skilled labor / employee welfare;

- Interactions among corporate financial policies (e.g., debt maturity), investment decisionspublic listing, and stock prices;

- Trade credit and public vs. private firms;

Executive compensation;

- Financial contracting;

- Corporate payout and hedging;

- Corporate risk taking;

- Applied financial econometrics (e.g., developing and evaluating dynamic panel data methodologies).
