Research interests

My current research covers Soviet transnational opera discourse in the late 1930s. My doctoral project is seeking to construct a critical reappraisal of transnational opera and festival-making from a post-colonial and post-imperial perspective. This analysis is derived from a study of national dekadas (ten-day festivals) that occurred in Moscow from 1936.

I also have research interests in music analysis, as well as the composers Sergei Prokofiev, Aram Khachaturian, and Reingold Glière.
