Dr David Apsley BA, MMath, PhD
Lecturer
Biography
David graduated from the University of Cambridge with a bachelors degree in mathematics (1985) and an MMath (1986), specialising in applied mathematics and fluid mechanics.
He joined the then Central Electricity Generating Board to work on environmental physics research in dispersion of atmospheric pollution and windpower resource.
He subsequently returned to university, gaining a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Surrey (1994) on the application of computational fluid dynamics to atmospheric flow and dispersion.
Following 5 years as a post-doctoral Research Associate in the Mechanical Engineering Department at UMIST he transferred to what is now the School of Mace at the University of Manchester in January 2000 as a lecturer in civil engineering.
