Ms Amanda Källstig
(Former)
Overview
Amanda's research interests include comedy, postcolonial international relations theory, resistance, and subjectivity particularly in the context of the African continent.
Her current doctoral research deals with what stand-up comedy in Zimbabwe can tell us about resistance and subjectivity. Through immersive fieldwork into stand-up comedy as a culture the project particularly explores the ways in which the comedian, audience and stand-up sets operate politically. This project is supervised by Dr. Carl Death and Dr. Aoileann Ní Mhurchú.
