Miss Qiaochu Zhang
Overview
My research is to address the question of how and why China has changed its approach to R2P and humanitarian intervention. It also intends to study the interaction between China’s traditionally-held norms of sovereignty and the Western-generated R2P through a historical and cultural lens, and the potential impact of China’s norm contestation strategy on the normative dynamics of R2P and the effectiveness of the humanitarian intervention. This project is supervised by Dr Jess Gifkins and Professor James Pattison.
