Dr Stephanie Sodero
Lecturer in Climate Change and Health

Overview
I research vital mobilities -- how goods, such as blood, saline IV solution, and oxygen move from the point of donation/manufacture to the point of care, and how such geographically dispersed supply chains can be made more resilient in a changing climate. Care for the climate and communities is central to my work.
My book, Under the Weather: Reimagining Mobility in the Climate Crisis, will be published with McGill-Queen’s University Press in autumn 2022.
I co-covene a Mobile Medical Materials working group with members interested in everything from donated blood to medications used in HIV prevention.
I am part of an HCRI, UK-Med, and Save the Children-UK initiative, funded by the UK Disasters Emergency Committee, examining how the aid system needs to prepare for the climate emergency. Check out our graphic novella, as well as this Q+A in Nature.
* I am currently not accepting PhD students.
