I am currently a Senior Tutor in Digital Education and was previously a Commonwealth scholar at the University of Manchester. My reserach and scholarship focus on digital education and language teacher education in under-resourced contexts. I am also interested in how educational policies and their implementation shape technology-mediated educational provisions in these contexts. I teach on courses such as Language learning and technology; Teaching and Learning online; Blended Learning in a Digital Age; and Digital Technologies in Education.
I have previously worked as lecturer in English and Communication skills and trained teachers both preservice and in-service in Rwanda. I have also worked on various donor-funded educational projects, including those funded by the British Council, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Belgian technical cooperation program PAFP (Programme d’Appui pour la Formation Professionelle). I have worked on teacher development projects in Rwanda, Senegal and Cote d'Ivoire.
I hold a PhD in Education (with focus on digital teacher identities in an under-resourced contexts), a Masters in TESOL_Educational Technology (University of Manchester), a BA in French and English with Education (University of Rwanda-College of Education), an Advanced Certificate in English Language Teaching (University of Oregon) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (University of Rwanda-College of Education)
