Peer group recognition
My research has made a significant contribution to the literature on international business and has an established reputation in the international business peer group (see e.g. J. Dunning ‘The Contribution of British Scholarship to International Business’ in International Business Review, April 2004). I have received a number of academic invitations both from UK and overseas institutions. I am also regularly asked to referee IB papers for numerous academic journals, including the International Business Review, Management International Review, International Review of Applied Economics and R&D Management. Likewise, I also regularly referee papers submitted to various IB conferences as well as chair sessions and act as discussant. I have refereed a large number of book proposals for academic publishers including Macmillan, Routledge and Academic Press. I have been an external examiner for the MA in International Business at Southbank University; and the chief external examiner for IB at The Manchester Metropolitan University and Oxford Brookes University. I have acted as external examiner for a number of IB-related Ph.D. and other research degrees at a number of UK and European universities including Salford, Swansea, Strathclyde and Uppsala (Sweden).
