Research interests

Lucy is an applied health researcher with a wide range of skills and research experience (research design, clinical trials, evidence synthesis, qualitative inquiry, survey research). Lucy has a social science background and is driven by a strong belief in health care equity. Lucy has been working within the field of oral health as a multidisciplinary researcher for more than ten years and has a substantial degree of knowledge of oral health generally and of dental health services both in the UK and internationally. Much of Lucy's research has been concerned with the prevention and management of childhood dental caries, but she has also covered a range of oral health issues including oral cancer screening, the prevention of craniofacial injuries, defining and measuring quality in primary care dental services, workforce planning and role-substitution in primary care and clinical leadership among general dental practitioners in an international context.
