Overview

Lamiece is mixed methods health services researcher. In February 2018, she won a mid-career UKRI fellowship with Health Data Research UK (https://hdruk.ac.uk/). This is a 3 year award in which Lamiece will develop skills in natural language processing for the purposes of analysing unstructured social media data to distill insights about public opinions on health and care.

Previously Lamiece worked on Connected Health Cities, a £20m DH-funded project that aims to unite local health data and advanced technology to improve health services for patients in Northern England. She has also worked for the Health eResearch Centre, part of the UK-wide Farr Institute for Health Informatics, establlishing public involvement mechanisms (most notably, the H@PPI forum) and championing participatory research throughout the Centre.

She has expertise in public engagement and involvement, epidemiology, surveys and qualitative methods. Her areas of interest include citizen science, co-production and public opinion on the reuse of health data.
