Research interests

My research interests are firstly, nurse education, disability and employment,

I am currently carrying out a study exploring the the experiences of studying at university and in clinical practice and the challenges expereinced by undergraduate nursing studeing with a Specific Learning Difficulty.

My previous research experience includes undertaking studies on a range of topics such as college leaders and their support of students considering a career in nursing, evaluating blended learning courses to develop the clinical competence of cardiac nurses in northwest England, career progression and motivations of Enrolled Nurses working in the NHS as well as evaluating the contribution of sociology to the pre-registration nursing curriculum and exploring nursing students attitudes towards personal development planning. I have also recently completed a study that explored decision making processes that occurs betwen older people, their carers and healthcare professionals in secondary care.
