Research interests
My research is located primarily in examining the role of the teacher and teacher education. This includes examining the nature of teacher training and the emerging professionalism of trainee teachers. My research also examines constraints and development of ‘everyday’ creativity and decision making and draws extensively upon psychology, philosophy and emotion theory. My Ph.D drew upon a range of theories including activity theory, grounded theory and critical theory whilst recent data collection and analysis have included case studies, Q methodology, action research, surveys, ethnographic approaches, field notes and focus groups interviews.
