This research is part of the remit of the Centre for Applied Pharmacokinetic Research, within the School, which involves a consortium of major pharmaceutical companies. A current PhD studentship (investigating mechanisms of drug distribution in tissues) is supervised by Dr David Hallifax and funded directly by Janssen Pharmaceuticals through collaboration with Dr Avijit Ghosh. A new post-doctoral project (February 2019), funded within CAPKR involving collaboration with Dr Tom de Bruyn of Genentech and supervised by Dr D Hallifax, will investigate the quantification of drug clearance routes in hepatocyte in vitro systems for slowly cleared drugs and how this relates between human and pre-clinical species.

External collaborations have included the M-J Gomez-Lechon research group (Hospital La Fe, Valencia), U Zanelli research group (Siena Biotech SpA, Siena) and the J Miners research group (Flinders University, Adelaide).

Internal collaborations are with Professor Brian Houston, Professor Amin Rostami-Hodjegan and Dr Alexandra Galetin.
