Dr Cong Zhou
Overview
Receiving my PhD in 2009, I started my career as a data scientist in cancer research, where the ever-increasing volume and complexity in clinical data calls for novel data analytical approaches to meet the unmet need for personalized precision therapy. I worked as a lecturer in biomarker statistics in the University of Manchester from 2014-2018, before I joined the newly established Manchester Centre for Cancer Biomarker Sciences as the lead biostatistician.
My research focused on developing and applying novel statistical methods to identify innovative biomarkers that help deliver personalized therapy in cancer diagnosis and treatment. My current researches include: (1) developing novel Bayesian methods for joint modelling of longitudinal and time-to-event data, to identify biomarkers that predict treatment response and resistance (2) using machine learning approaches to predict cancer treatment outcome via single cell sequencing data (3) designing clinical trials and translational biomarker studies on novel cancer drugs.
