• Research with children and young people on a range of topics and using a range of methodological approaches
• Research with parents and families, particularly in the context of complex family situations; evaluating parenting support interventions
• Child protection and abuse prevention; service provision for survivors of abuse
• Mental health research
• More generally, researching sensitive topics and the broader research areas of health and social care
• Programme evaluation and outcome measurement
